vivo first introduced the V27 Pro at the beginning of March. Now, only a few short weeks later, the Chinese manufacturer is getting set to introduce the V29 Pro.
What is going on here is a mystery to us; generally, successors in Vivoland move the version number forward by a couple of digits, but the fact that a new release is coming out so quickly is really strange.
In spite of this, Vivo Philippines has published a teaser website for the future V29 Pro, which is described as “coming soon.” Because, thankfully, that page discloses the majority of the handset’s primary specifications, let’s go over them and examine how this model stacks up against the V27 Pro, at least on paper.
The V29 Pro includes a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 66W rapid wired charging, a “64 MP triple rear camera solution,” a 50 MP primary front-facing camera (implying there are more than one), and a curved OLED touchscreen measuring 6.7 inches in diagonal with a resolution of 1080p and 120 Hz.
Vivo V29 Pro would feature 256GB of storage space and 12GB of random access memory (RAM).
These are some fairly solid specifications, and in comparison to the V27 Pro, the V29 Pro has perhaps the same screen, a main back camera with 64 megapixels rather than 50 megapixels (on the current model), and a larger battery.
The V27 Pro is available in a number of different configurations, one of which features 12 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) and 256 gigabytes of storage space.
When it does become completely official, the V29 Pro should, of course, be operating on Android 13 with vivo’s Funtouch 13 on top of it.
