WhatsApp may tweak its group conversation interface. Some Meta-owned users now have a calling button with a context menu.
WABetaInfo revealed that iOS beta users of the instant messaging software are getting a new call button and context menu. iOS beta 23.11.0.76 has new calling icons and menu modifications.
The latest beta version changes the calling symbol in group conversations, according to the report. This icon still lets group members make calls, but it now shows a context menu to pick audio or video. After the recent update, the action sheet menu with those two options (or the customary two buttons to place audio and video calls) became a context menu.
The calling icon in group chats shows if your account has the context menu. “If your account has a video call button with a plus sign above it, the feature is enabled,” the study said.
